We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

What determines how many editions of any pony are made. I saw one with 15 Editions??
Response From Trailmaster:
Each edition consists of 10,000 castings. That means the Pony in its 15th edition has sold 150,000 figurines. That was a very popular Pony.

When will you bring back the magnets? I just loved them and sure makes it easier and less expensive to have a decent collection with limited space.

Bryan from Missouri wrote on May 14, 2014:
Will you ever come out with a Wizard of Oz series?
Response From Trailmaster:
That could be a fun and clever collection. The "however" is that the rights to reproduce that imagery are closely held by the movie studio that produced the film, and to obtain a license to create a Dorothy, Tin Man, Wicked Witch, etc Painted Pony would be prohibitively expensive, if it could even be negotiated.

I saw on e-bay an "official" Trail of the Painted Ponies jacket. How can I buy one?
Response From Trailmaster:
Several years ago we did have an arrangement with a clothing company to produce Trail of Painted Ponies jackets, but the license was not renewed. There was still some inventory left over and this is probably what you saw.

Hello, I was going to buy some of the recently retired ponies, and I noticed 1 of them is on backorder. Will more be coming in soon or is it permently gone from your store since it has been retired? Thanks!
Response From Trailmaster:
The retired Ponies on the Official Store that are marked Backorder will be coming soon. You can call the 800 number to find out when.

I have a pony that has an blank edition or number on it. Is it worth anything since it is unique?
Response From Trailmaster:
Each of the Painted Pony figurines are hand-numbered, and on occasion one slips through that is not numbered. This is anomaly and as not proven to be of greater value than a numbered figurine.

Betty from Houston wrote on May 01, 2014:
I have been giving my granddaughter your horses and am now confused on the size. How many different sizes do you have? I just bid on a horse and was told that it is 6" (tall?). I think that is smaller than what I have been buying. Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
The standard and most popular size of the Painted Pony figurines is approximately 6". I say approximately because the rearing horse form, for example, stands taller. Over the years we have created a 9" figurine, and several years ago we came out with the Happy Trails Collection, which averaged 4". If you want to cross-reference with our Collectors Checklist.
