We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

I would like to know if you intend on releasing DOLLY PARTONS "Colt of many colors" in the 6" size pony to the public. I have looked for it but can only find the life size edition
Response From Trailmaster:
Good question. We worked with Dolly on the creation of the original, life-size "Colt of Many Colors," which is on display at Dixie Stampede in Branson, Missouri. But we have not been able to work out the details yet for its translation into a figurine. Rest assured, we will keep trying until we can make a grand announcement.

libby Johnson from Edina MN wrote on September 05, 2012:
when are the actual dates that the ponies come out?
Response From Trailmaster:
We introduce four new Painted Pony figurines every three months: January, April, July and October. These are available for pre-order at that time, but actual availability and shipping to collectors - in stores and through our Official Online Store - is generally two months after their announcement date. In January we also announce four Holiday-themed Painted Ponies, which are not usually available until July. We do our best to keep up a constant flow of new and exciting Painted Pony designs.

Do the ponies come with display cases?
Response From Trailmaster:
No, collectors must find their own display cases, which to our knowledge have ranged from curio cabinets to custom made plexiglass boxes.

Would you ever consider reissuing a design? I had a BLACKJACK that was very special to me as a retired Army Officer. It got broke and I cannot locate a replacement. Thank you
Response From Trailmaster:
As a point of clarification, no, once we announce that a Painted Pony figurine is retired, and put it out to pasture, that is where it remains. To reissue a Pony would break our bond with collectors.

Angela English from Australia wrote on August 24, 2012:
Are painted ponies now made in Thialand. I have recently purchased three ponies and two are made in Thialand and the other is made in China. I wrote to Trailmaster and got a response directing me to your website but I cannot find the response to my question. Thanking you in anticipation.
Response From Trailmaster:
We search the world for the best collectible factories, which previously were exclusively found in China. Recently we have been working with one in Thailand who does an excellent job.

Jody Danielzuk from Nebraska wrote on August 20, 2012:
I purchased Golden Girl on ebay. The list I have for all the ponies has she retired in 2006 abd tge bynber was 1E/8400 mine is 1E/9245 so how can that retirement number be 8400? Thanks, JOdy
Response From Trailmaster:
This has come up a couple of times before with Golden Girl, and each time we check, we are told that the final number is 8400. The only explanation must be human error. Being that this is such a rare Pony, this should not affect its value.

Karen Mobley from Tarpon Springs, FL wrote on August 18, 2012:
Where some of the life-size original Painted Ponies located? I will be traveling in the West this October and would like to see some of them up close and personal. Thanks, Karen
Response From Trailmaster:
I will forward your request for location information to the right person at The Trail, who will send you a list. Unfortunately, there is no one place where a group of them can be seen.

Cindy Allen from Pomerene, AZ wrote on August 16, 2012:
will the new race horses be available for general purchase?
Response From Trailmaster:
A decision has not been made yet, as the winning designs are in the process of being created by the artists on a Paint Your Own Pony kit form. After we see how they turn out, we will make a decision then.

A Service person broke my TOPP figurine "Floral Pony" #1593 (1E); I will need to inform his employer the value of this item and I cannot find it anywhere online. Help!
Response From Trailmaster:
Right now, a "Floral Pony" like the one you have, which is a First Edition and retired, is selling for between $150 and 190 on eBay.
