Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

When will the next new pony, the spring and summer winners 2022?
Response From Trailmaster:
Because of shipping delays experienced by every business in 2021, the Summer 2021 Release is just now arriving at our official store. We won't be announcing the Summer 2022 Release until July.

I bought a few painted ponies years ago when a boutique was going out of business. They were the first of my collection. They are unstamped on the bottom. Totally blank. Mosaic Appaloosa is one of them. Is it because they were given to the store as samples? Are they more valuable or less valuable than those that are marked with Editions? Thank you for any information you can give me. I could send pics if you like.
Response From Trailmaster:
There are several possible explanations for why the Ponies you have are unstamped on the bottom, the most likely being that they were given to a sales rep as samples to show to retailers, not sell, but somehow were sold anyway. Although this makes them anomalies, it doesn't necessarily make them more valuable.

I found some ponies that are hinged trinket boxes. Is there a price list for them
Response From Trailmaster:
The jeweled gift boxes originally retailed for $60.

Is there somewhere I can sell my ponies other than Ebay?
Response From Trailmaster:
The only place other than eBay that we know of where you can sell your Ponies is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PaintedPoniessellbuyswapauction/ We do not, however, monitor this site.

What was the earlier material used in making the ponies? What material is used now? Does the feel/ look same for different materials.
Response From Trailmaster:
When Trail of Painted Ponies figurines first hit the market in 2003, some were cast in resin and some in porcelain. As the designs we decided to work with became more complex and dimensional, we discontinued with porcelain and now cast exclusively in resin.

Genie from Kansas (USA) wrote on March 07, 2022:
Do all ponies have the plate on their base?
Response From Trailmaster:
No. When Painted Pony figurines were first introduced to the public in the winter of 2003, they did not have title plates. Some seven years later, when we moved to a new manufacturer, we decided to add title plates, a policy we intend to continue.

Sorry, but we don't have replacement parts for damaged figurines.

Why is my give me wings blank? No edition or number?
Response From Trailmaster:
Sometimes samples that are created for our approval make their way into the marketplace. It sounds like what you have is one of them.

I have 2 painted ponies that I am trying to figure out the value of..I dont understand how the edition reflects on the price. I have a war pony 16E, and a Medicine horse 10E. How can I figure out the worth?
Response From Trailmaster:
It is true that Painted Pony figurines have become one of those rare collectibles that appreciate in value over time. What is difficult to determine is just how much they appreciate in value because there is no book, no register, nowhere you can go that will give you "market value." A variety of factors come into play. Edition number. A lower edition number (1E) is perceived to have a higher value than a lower edition number (16E). Whether and when it was retired needs to be considered , and how popular it was up until that time. Whether the artist's signature is included adds desirability, and of course its condition, and whether it comes with its original packaging. And finally, how coveted it is by the collector. Perhaps there will be an emotional reason for wanting that particular piece, or it could complete a grouping within the overall collection. The only measure we know of to determine its worth will be when you put it up for sale someplace like eBay... and let the bidding begin.
