We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

My father sent my son his 1st edition prance to the music painted pony and the paint on the mane was nicked during transit. He is autistic and loves playing piano and this was very special to him. Is there a way to get the paint fixed? He is very upset About the paint. Thank you
Response From Trailmaster:
It doesn't sound as if the damage was that significant that it couldn't be remedied with touch up paint purchased at a crafts store. Perhaps you can turn this into a project you and your son can both work on, which might make "Prance to the Music" even more meaningful.

Response From Trailmaster:
Please call the Official Trail of Painted Ponies Store and explain your situation. They should be able to help you work something out.

I have a 1E/1655 of Item 1457 Patrol Horse dated 2003. It was in storage for several years and as far as I can tell is in mint condition. No cracks, chips, stains, etc. The only thing is that I do not have the original box for it. What would it be worth and where or to whom would I try to sell it? Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Response From Trailmaster:
Your best bet is to post it on eBay. That has become the go-to place for Painted Pony collectors who want to add to their collections, or replace broken pieces. As for its value, also consult eBay to see what a similar piece is going for. As with any collectible, you will need to balance what you think it’s worth, and what someone is willing to pay.

Have a hard time locating info of Bill Millers "Ghost Horse" item No. 12372.
Response From Trailmaster:
I'm afraid that Bill's "Ghost Horse" was retired years ago. You may be able to find one for sale on eBay.

Do you intend on having the different positions in the Paint Your Own Pony figurines ever again? I would love to have 2 or 3 of the different styles. I have checked many times on E-Bay and have only found 1, which I already had. Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
Good question. We would like nothing more than to provide multiple horse forms for people to paint, but the reality we must deal with is that in order for us to keep the price on the Paint Your Own forms affordable, we must place a minimum order of 500. This makes it a challenge to have more than one form available to paint at one time.

Jen Ranney from Spokane, WA wrote on April 28, 2019:
Hello! I previously asked about ponies with no numbers. For clarification I am referring to War Pony and Karuna, which both are numbered (2970 and 2778 respectively) but there is no edition number. I heard this was an oversight during the beginning of production and only a few were produced before the error was caught, making them quite rare. Is this correct? If so, is there a way to find out the value? Thank you!
Response From Trailmaster:
You are correct in your understanding of what happened. You are also correct in thinking that this mistake created a group of Ponies that have a specially perceived value in the eyes of collectors. Just how much more value this adds to each piece is difficult to say. The best way to find out is to follow the sale of Painted Ponies on eBay and see what these are currently going for.

Looked all thru your website. How do I go about ordering a retired pony? What is the process? Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
Generally when we retire a Pony it means that not only are we no longer producing that Pony, it means we are out of stock. But sometimes we still have a few on hand that we will continue to sell as long as they are still available. We usually include this information in the description of the Pony. We have not organized these into a distinct Retired category.

I have two painted pony lamps: Earth Wind and Fire & War Pony. Can you give me additional information on them? IE what they are worth, etc.
Response From Trailmaster:
We produced a series of Painted Pony lamps at one time, but have not produced them in years. So they are bonafide collector's pieces. As for what they are worth, there are no official guidelines but you may start them at twice what you paid, because they are not available anymore.

Is hop a long available
Response From Trailmaster:
Hopalong was a winning design submission that would be particularly appropriate as a gift at Easter. But no, it has not been crafted as a figurine. Yet
