We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

Hi- I have received 3 Ponies that are marked 1E/Sample. One I have is Prairie Horizon. On the bottom it says: 1E/Sample Item no. 12261 Prairie Horizon Artist: Bob Coonts TM and C 2008 (Trademark sign and Copyright sign)The Trail of the Painted Ponies, Inc Then has the Westland Logo and under that says Westland/Giftware Handcrafted in China I am wondering if these are worth anything, if they are authentic, any information would be great! Thank you!! Lacy Bradshaw
Response From Trailmaster:
With each Painted Pony release, samples are created that are shipped to our manufacturer's showrooms for display at trade shows. With our previous manufacturer, we had a little trouble controlling what what happen with these samples after the shows. They were not supposed to find their way into general release, but some did and what you have must be some of these samples. I would say they are authentic, but as to whether they have a higher or lower value than numbered Painted Ponies, in our opinion they would qualify as anomalies, which some collectors may actually like, but are not as valuable as numbered Ponies.

Is there any way that I can find out if a certain poines are available anywheres, like the Fallen Hero Pony and Pony of Many colors?
Response From Trailmaster:
We do not maintain an inventory list of what Painted Ponies are currently available in stores across the country. The best we can offer is to check availability on our Official Website Store, or, for rare and retired Ponies, to call our Director of Sales, Rikki, toll free at 1-877-459-5701.

DEAR FOLKS! Last year I believe there was a release of a figurine titled war cry in commemoration of the battle of the little big horn.Ibelieve that it was stated that it stood 15" tall and was enscripted WAR CRY.I am a collector of these ponies and would certainly want to obtain this figurine for my collection. Can you please help me out with this.Thank you and have a good pony day.Dan Goodwin
Response From Trailmaster:
You have two choices. You can visit the Store Locator on our website and find a store in Canada near you (I would recommend you call them ahead of time to make sure they carry this Pony). Or, you can purchase it from the Official Painted Ponies Store. (They will ship it to Canada for you, but you will have to pay for international shipping).

I have heard rumor that there might be a new race horse coming out by the name of Zenyatta? if you would let me know please Thank You
Response From Trailmaster:
For one of our competitions we did receive a really nice design from a California artist that was inspired by the racehorse "Zenyatta." But the challenge of obtaining permission to use the name and likeness from Zenyatta's owner, which would be required before we could create a figurine, have not been overcome yet.

Was there a pony inspired by a priest? I thought I saw one and was thinking it might be the Children's Prayer pony. Please advise. Thanks.
Response From Trailmaster:
We did work with some Catholic schools to generate student imagery that was used on the Children's Prayer Pony, but not a specific priest who served as an inspiration for either a drawing or saying. Perhaps you are thinking of the Holiday Pony titled "Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh"?

I bought 7 painted ponies. How can I find information about them? This web site was no help. THANKS KATHRYN
Response From Trailmaster:
In each Painted Pony box you should have found a story card, which tells the story behind the Pony. Or, on our website, you can click on the Collector link at the top navigation bar and a menu will drop down which will allow you to view all of the story cards.

Hello. I hope you can answer a question. If I wanted to buy a poney, could I purchase it on three payments?. Thank You CHER
Response From Trailmaster:
Unfortunately, our official store is not set up to handle installment payments. Perhaps you can find a retailer near you who would be willing to work out such an arrangement. Check our Store Locator. Good luck.

Some "Wounded Knee" painted ponies have a name plate on the base and others do not. Why? Also - When did the story card replace the "hang tag" Thank you so much
Response From Trailmaster:
When we transitioned to a new manufacturer - Enesco, in 2010 - we added several new features to Painted Ponies. To give the figurines a fine art look and feel, we added title plates. And instead of coming with hang tags draped around the Ponies neck, which were easily bent and could look messy, we added collectible story cards inside each box. Our belief is that these two features enhance the value of Trail of Painted Ponies figurines as collectibles.

My daughter is interested in entering a competition. She is 10-yrs-old. Will you have another competition for youth in 2012?
Response From Trailmaster:
We are currently holding Holiday Design competition, and yes, there is a youth category. You can download a choice of outlines for her and she can make as many submissions as she would like.

A couple of days ago I saw on the website a pony standing on a piano keyboard and had a guitar painted on the side. Wanted to buy it for my granddaughter and now can't find it again. Can you help?
Response From Trailmaster:
The name of this charming Painted Pony is "Prance to the Music." It was just released in January of this year, and it is available through our Official Trail of Painted Ponies Store, or perhaps a local retailer in your area.
