We try to answer questions daily. Questions are not posted until they are answered.

Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

I ordered a Painted Pony and gave to my daughter today. I turns our that I gave her the same at Christmas last year. Is it possible to return it and allow her to choose another one?
Response From Trailmaster:
Please go back to the retailer you purchased the Painted Pony from and tell them what happened. Our retailers tend to be generous of spirit, particularly at this time of year. If you encounter problems, call our office.

Carol Lewallen from St.Clair,Missouri wrote on November 30, 2012:
I love painting and have always been told I have a flair for color and detail. What I would like to know how can a person become a painter for painted ponies? I am 64 years young and absolutely love my painted pony collection! Sincerely,Carol
Response From Trailmaster:
We would suggest you look through our site for the Ponies you admire and give some thought as to why these are your favorite? Is it the color combinations? The concept or story? Then download from our site the outlines of the different Ponies and use them like a coloring book. Experiment. When you have narrowed your favorites down, purchase one of our Paint Your Own Pony kits and paint a Pony. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. No one gets it perfect the first time. And you can wipe the paint off the kit forms with mineral spirits or paint over previous designs you aren't happy with. Good luck. And feel free to share the results with us.

I have been looking at some Spirit War painted ponies for sale and there is quite a difference in the colors of the different ponies. This may just be the lighting or the way they photographed the pony. Are all specific pony designs consistant in color and depth of color or do they come out with a lot of variation in color?
Response From Trailmaster:
I think your insight into the photography is the answer. Consistency in color and detail has been important to us, and while from time to time there may be slight variations because of the hand-made nature of Painted Pony figurines, maintaining color has not been an issue, especially with this Pony. What has been an issue is getting good and consistent photography, particularly with Ponies that have a glossy sheen, such as Spirit War Pony.

Becky Palmer from Idaho wrote on November 27, 2012:
I have 5 of the Painted Ponies that are retired. I purchased them in New Mexico in 2008 and would like to sell them. Do you know how ai should go about this. They are in perfect condition as the just set on a high shelf. I have the original boxes and papers.
Response From Trailmaster:
Our recommendation would be to take sharp, clear pictures of each Painted Pony, include the story of when and where you purchased them and that you have the original boxes and papers, and post them on eBay.

Sandra Genson from Grand Rapids, MI wrote on November 27, 2012:
I have a painted poney, Floral Pony, item #1593 that reitred in 7-05. While moving, this item broke and I would like to replace it. Is that possible?
Response From Trailmaster:
You should check to see if there is one available in Treasures from the Vault, which can be accessed by a link on our home page. If not, your best bet would be to look on eBay.

Do you still offer Holiday ScreenSavers?
Response From Trailmaster:
No, we discontinued that program primarily because of the time it took to create the ScreenSavers, and instead we have focused on the Ponies and new product formats that will be introduced in January. So be sure to check back.

Linda Lewis from The Villages, FL wrote on November 27, 2012:
Want can you tell me about Canyon Beauty by S. Grogan? It is featured in the Ride the Sky book, copyright 2007. Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
Several years ago we held a national art competition and one of the categories was "America the Beautiful." "Canyon Beauty" was one of the ten finalists and a Masterwork of this fabulous design that managed to capture the look and feel of the Grand Canyon was created by the artist. It is a one-of-a-kind that is still for sale. It has not yet been crafted into a figurine, but an image was included in o ur giftbook, "Ride the Sky."

Noel Mumford from San Leandro, CA wrote on November 25, 2012:
I have a Lightning Bolt Colt signed by the artist, Dyanne Strongbow. Is there a way to find out how many colts she signed. I have never seen another one. Thank you.
Response From Trailmaster:
Neither we nor Dyanne can recall precisely how many of her Ponies she signed. The reason there are so few is her Painted Pony came out before we began the Autographed Editions.

Cindy Nieskens from Laurel, MT. wrote on November 24, 2012:
Do you have any ponies that have barrel racing or pole bending themes ?
Response From Trailmaster:
No, because to truly convey the art of barrel racing you need to include a rider. This is a theme we will probably explore with our sister collectible, Horse Whispers.

Denise from Homestead, FL wrote on November 22, 2012:
I bought my first Painted Pony named "Navajo Black Beauty" and was told it is retired. Is it one of the The Trail of Painted Ponies AND is it retired? Thank you, Denise
Response From Trailmaster:
Would you send us a picture of this figurine? There is another painted horse line out there that is sometimes confused with Painted Ponies, and I would like to see what this Pony looks like because "Navajo Black Beauty" is not a name I am familiar with.
