Here are answers to the commonly asked questions about where to resell Painted Ponies, and what their current value is:

When collectors choose to resell their Painted Ponies, we recommend doing so on eBay. There is also a Facebook group, which was set up by Painted Ponies collectors and is not monitored by The Trail of Painted Corporate Office, where you can offer your Painted Ponies for sale. Here is a link to that Facebook group:

To find the current perceived value of your Painted Ponies, we suggest searching on eBay for the same figurine with a similar edition number. If you have an eBay account, you can look up what that particular figurine has sold for recently, and that will give you an even more accurate perceived value.

Fell in love with your ponies from the beginning, however, I am new at collecting. Generally, what is considered the best purchase for a pony that has the enhancement of being autographed....the autographed pony or the first edition, guaranteed low numbered pony? In your store, the latter has the higher price so I am making an assumption it would be that one. But, you know what they say about assumptions :) Thanks so much.
Response From Trailmaster:
I would say your best "investment" would be an Autographed Pony, which is not only signed by the artist, it is hand-numbered and the edition number is guaranteed to be under 500. Plus, some of these are retired, which further increases their value.

where do I find the full list of Figurines by release that hadthe type status date of retirement and number of releases. Im catching up my book and the last release is frim the 16th release holiday 2010.
Response From Trailmaster:
This information can be found on the Collectors Checklist. Go to the official website, click on Collector, click again on Collector's Checklist.

I have the Sky of Enchantment pony, and it took a pretty bad fall. Do you do repairs, or would I be able to purchase a new one? I looked on the site and could not find another one.
Response From Trailmaster:
We do not do repairs. Your best bet for finding a replacement of this Pony, which is long retired, would be to look on eBay.

What are the chances a design will be accepted? How many do you receive and turn down vs how many are made?
Response From Trailmaster:
We are always looking for fresh, creative designs. When we hold an art competition we generally receive from 60 or 70 to several hundred designs. Outside of competitions, we receive from a dozen to two dozen a week. Some of these we immediately want to craft into figurines, but we hold on to all designs and review them frequently.

How can I purchase a retired pony, specifically, the Maple Leaf pony?
Response From Trailmaster:
We have searched and found a source for a "Maple Leaf" ornament, but not a figurine. Your best bet is to check on eBay, and perhaps call a few retailers in your area to see if maybe they have an unsold one in stock.

Kelly Kurtz from Denver, Pa wrote on February 01, 2014:
Are you no longer selling paint your own pony kits in the rearing and running forms?
Response From Trailmaster:
That is correct. For the time being, we have retired those two Paint Your Own kits, meaning we are not currently producing any more. You can still find them, however, at various retail and online stores.

I am trying to find out the value of my 5 Trail of Painted Ponies? I have Love As Strong As A Horse, Spirit War Horse, War Pony, Tewa Horse and TRIBAL Painy.
Response From Trailmaster:
You have a nice collection of older Native Ponies, all that are retired. It is very difficult to put a price on them. It depends on their condition, their edition number, whether they are autographed or not, if they come with their original boxes. And if someone is looking for one of these to complete their collection.

donna badnar from boston wrote on January 26, 2014:
can one of the artist do a custom piece for me for a 2/23/14 date?
Response From Trailmaster:
It depends on the availability of the artist, and the complexity of the design.

Tiffany from California wrote on January 22, 2014:
Is there going to an autographed edition of your new gypsy vanner pokey?
Response From Trailmaster:
The artist who created "Don't Fence Me In" - both sculpted and painted the original - is Kathleen Moody, who was a Master Artist for Breyer for many years. Google "The Art of Kathleen Moody" to see more of her work. She is a full-time artist who says she doesn't have time to run a side-business fulfilling figurine orders, dealing with packing and shipping, etcetera. So at this time she has chosen not to participate in an autographed edition.

Which is more valuable lst or 17th edition
Response From Trailmaster:
In the minds of serious collectors, the 1st. (By the way, we don't have any 17th edition Ponies.)
